Milford has a clearly defined approach to investment into the New Zealand and Australian sharemarkets, as outlined below:
- fundamental research based is the key way that we add value
- we have a strong emphasis on industry/company research, visits and contacts
- we find sharebroker inputs are useful but not critical
- we have a long-term investment perspective
- we are active and absolute investors, not being constrained by market indices
- small/mid-cap and unlisted New Zealand companies are a speciality
- we seek to invest in companies that exhibit superior corporate governance
