Marc Whittaker
Marc has considerable experience in financial markets working in Sydney, with over 10 years in equity analysis.
Marc has considerable experience in financial markets working in Sydney, with over 10 years in equity analysis. Prior to joining Milford he was an Associate Director at Lazard Asia Pacific Asset Management in Sydney specialising in technology, media, financials and developers and contractors.
Marc held an earlier position in equity analysis with UBS Australia, where he specialised in telecommunications research. Marc is responsible for analysis of New Zealand and Australian companies and is the Head of Australasian Equities Research. He has a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney and has completed the CFA programme.
Anthony Quirk AFA
Anthony has more than 25 years experience in the investment industry. He joined Milford in 2007.
Anthony has more than 25 years experience in the investment industry. He joined Milford in 2007. As Milford’s Managing Director he has overall responsibility for the company’s business activities.
Prior to joining Milford he was Managing Director at Tyndall Investment Management. Tyndall had $3.6 billion under management at the time of his departure and was INFINZ Fund Manager of the Year in both 2005 and 2006. He was appointed General Manager of ANZ Funds Management in 1993 and helped grow the funds under management from $400 million to more than $2 billion at the time he left in early 2000.
Anthony is a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Professionals New Zealand and is a current board member of that organisation. He has previously been Chairman of the Asset Management Advisory Board of the New Zealand Exchange, member of the Financial Reporting Standards Board of the New Zealand Society of Accountants and Deputy Chairman of the New Zealand Society of Investment Analysts.
Graeme Thomas AFA
Graeme joined Milford in 2003 from a position as Head of Advisory Services at ANZ Private Bank in New Zealand.
Graeme joined Milford in 2003 from a position as Head of Advisory Services at ANZ Private Bank in New Zealand. He has 26 years experience in investment management including the role as Chief Investment Officer at Southpac Investment Management. In the 15 years Graeme was at Southpac funds under management expanded to $3 billion with assets sourced from pension and superannuation schemes, trusts and private clients. He was also General Manager of Financial Services at the National Bank of New Zealand, responsible for private banking and managed funds distribution and has been a principal investment consultant at William M Mercer.
Graeme is a CFP (Certified Financial Planner) and a past Chairman of the New Zealand Society of Investment Analysts.
Jonathan Windust CFA
Jonathan has a wide range of investment experience across financial markets both in New Zealand and internationally.
Jonathan has a wide range of investment experience across financial markets both in New Zealand and internationally. Prior to joining Milford in 2008 Jonathan worked for Gartmore Investment Management in London where he was portfolio manager for the Royal Bank of Scotland Pension scheme which had assets in excess of NZ $25 billion. At Gartmore, Jonathan was responsible for investment strategy and investments into individual private equity funds and companies across Europe and Asia.
Prior to Gartmore Jonathan worked in New Zealand as an investment analyst at BT Funds Management (now owned by Westpac), an investment associate at the Frank Russell Company and as a treasury dealer with the New Zealand Dairy Board (now Fonterra), where he was responsible for managing currency and interest rate risks. Jonathan is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Charterholder.
Brian Gaynor
Brian is Chairman of Milford’s Investment Committee and head of Milford’s portfolio management and investment analysis activities.

Brian is one of New Zealand’s most experienced and well known investment analysts. His career includes roles as a partner and head of research at stockbrokers Jarden & Co, a member of the New Zealand Stock Exchange, Chairman of the New Zealand Society of Investment Analysts and Chairman of the Asian Securities Analysts Council.
He was a Director of The New Zealand Investment Trust plc (listed on the NZ and UK stock exchanges) and was a board member of the Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation.
Alastair Thomson AFA
Alastair is responsible for business development at Milford.
He has spent over 18 years in general management and marketing in the UK and NZ and 13 years in the financial services sector.

His financial services experience comprises two years as a Divisional Manager at The Gulf Bank in Kuwait, nine years as a consultant in financial services in Asia and Australasia working with clients including, Macquarie Private Bank, CBA Global Markets and JP Morgan and two years in Australian funds management at Clime Asset Management in Sydney as Director of IMA Sales.
Alastair graduated from the University of Otago in 1977 with a Bachelor of Law degree.
William Curtayne
William joined Milford early in 2010 after completing a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland.
While at University William competed internationally in Triathlons including four World Championship events. As a senior investment analyst his job is to search for superior investments in Australia and New Zealand and closely monitor Milford’s existing investments. While William covers many sectors he specialises in the Utility, Property, Resource and Energy sectors. Working with the rest of Milford’s Investment Team, William visits many companies and conducts detailed investment analysis to uncover top class investments.
William has passed the Level 1 & 2 CFA exams and is sitting the final Level 3 exam this year.
Bryce Marsden
Bryce joined Milford at the start of 2010 and has 16 years of finance industry experience in London and New Zealand, the last 13 years being spent with BT Funds Management.

As Head of Wealth Operations, Bryce was involved in a number of significant operational transitions including the purchase of BT Funds Management by Westpac Banking Corporation and the re-engineering of the funds management business. BT Funds Management with Westpac had grown its customer base to over 140,000 and $2.2 billion in assets under management at the time of his departure.
Bryce has overall responsibility for the administrative, compliance, accounting, and technology functions for Milford. He has a Bachelor of Commerce (Double Major – Accounting and Marketing) and a Post Graduate Diploma (Accounting) from the University of Otago. He is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants and has previously been a director of the Investment Savings and Insurance Association of New Zealand (ISI).
Alan Moore
Alan Moore is one of New Zealand’s most experienced investment managers with an impressive career in financial services stretching over 36 years.
Alan Moore is one of New Zealand’s most experienced investment managers with an impressive career in financial services stretching over 36 years. He joined Milford Asset Management as an Executive Director on the company’s formation in 2003. Alan started in New Zealand as the very first investment manager for the Accident Compensation Corporation.
He then joined Westpac as investment manager before becoming Managing Director of its investment management business in New Zealand. In 1988 he became Managing Director of Barclays Investment Services (which later became BZW Investment Management).
Prior to joining Milford he was an investment manager at Guardian Trust Funds Management where he managed portfolios on behalf of long-standing private clients and trusts.
Alan is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in London and is a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Professionals New Zealand. Alan was a founding member of the New Zealand Society of Investment Analysts.
